RECCH 0500:00:00Sewer Lateral Inspection explained.
The sewer lateral is the pipe that links your house to the public sewer main. In most places it belongs to the property owner, which means a break, root invasion or collapse is your repair and your bill, no matter how the pipe got that way.
We camera the lateral from the cleanout to where it joins the main, check the connection, and look for the things that age it: roots at joints, offsets, cracks, scale and sags. Then we tell you the condition in plain terms.

Is the lateral my responsibility?
Usually the private lateral is the owner’s and the public main is the utility’s, but it varies by utility and by where the property line falls. Ask your sewer utility for the exact boundary.
Can you tell if it needs replacing?
Footage shows the condition and our write-up explains whether repair, lining or replacement is the realistic route.
How often should a lateral be scoped?
There is no single rule. Older clay or cast iron lines with big trees nearby deserve a look every few years.
